WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
A Benefits Specialist to administer the overall benefit programs provided by Southern Management Companies. Conduct presentations and meetings to explain benefits to team members. WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
Work with HRIS manager to automate benefit processes
Process termination reports for Benefits/COBRA
Complete monthly reports and billing for health, life, dental, and voluntary benefits
Review, approve, and track Family and Medical Leave requests
Provide guidance with coordination of leave related to Workers Compensation claims and FMLA
Provide assistance and support with benefits plan enrollment, interpretation, and claims investigation
Review and monitor benefits paid by insurance company, and input and monitor data for COBRA with Great West
Administer Workers Compensation Program
Review and monitor all connection feeds for benefits and 401(k) in HRIS system
Administer and coordinate 401(k) cash transfers
Conduct monthly and yearly benefits summary
Coordinate, administer, and maintain company wellness programs
Provide annual benefits notification, Summary Plan Descriptions, and plan changes
Coordinate ADP Home Page for latest Human Resources updates
Maintain professional and technical work knowledge by attending educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks and participate in professional associations
Contribute to the Human Resources Team effort by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
Comply with all Southern Management's policies and procedures
Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Vice President of Human Resources
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Maintain professional and technical work knowledge and certifications by attending educational workshops, review professional publications, establish personal networks and participate in professional associations to ensure Southern Management compliance with all related laws
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge and understanding of employment/benefit related laws, regulations and current issues
Ability to work independently
Minimal Insurance errors
Proficient computer skills to include all Microsoft programs (i.e., excel, word, etc.), payroll programs (Workforce Now, and Kronos), and benefit links
Ensure accurate and up-to-date compliance/knowledge in all areas of COBRA /W/C, benefits, FMLA, ADA, and Payroll
QUALIFICATIONS:
Group Benefits Associate (GBA) - Preferred
Society of Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP)
Certificate in FMLA and ADA Compliance - Preferred
High school diploma with an equivalent of three (3) years' experience in Human Resources
