JOB SUMMARY: The Social Worker provides a range of counseling & youth development services. The Social Worker provides individual and group counseling, participates in advisory activities, a range of classroom supports, and is fully integrated into the life of the day school program. ? MAJOR DUTIES: ? Participates in all aspects of GSS programming. Provides individual and group counseling for students. Develop group work strategies that support and enhance students’ skill development and help build on youth competencies. Perform family interventions to support family engagement and participation in the school community. Refer youth and families to appropriate resources both within GSS and other community organizations as appropriate. Provide assistance to Department of Education (DOE) staff on advisement, group work and youth development. Participate in Clinical Group Supervision, team meetings and DOE Meetings. Perform crisis intervention as needed. Generate data required for statistical reporting and ensure that appropriate paperwork/database entry is completed. Work collaboratively with GSS team and DOE staff to create a caring school environment and build community. Perform other duties as assigned. ? QUALIFICATIONS: LMSW required, SIFI preferred. Bilingual in Spanish candidate preferred. Experience and demonstrated skill in working with youth and families. Prior experience in a school setting preferred. Ability to implement best practices to achieve desirable outcomes. Excellent organizational, written, and communication skills. Must have a commitment to working from a strength-based and/or youth development perspective.
