About the Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are a professional football team and a member of the National Football League’s AFC South Division. The Jaguars are one of the NFL’s youngest franchises, playing their first regular season home game on September 3, 1995 in Jacksonville, Fla., and have since won three division titles. The Jaguars are owned by Shahid Khan, a visionary leader whose businesses include Flex-N-Gate, Fulham Football Club, All Elite Wrestling, Bold Events and Iguana Investments. Summary
The Data Engineer plays an integral role in the Jacksonville Jaguars organization as a member of the Analytics team. This person will work closely with various cross-functional groups such as marketing and sales to develop infrastructure and deliver tools or data structures that enable data-driven decision-making. Successful candidates will exhibit technical acumen and business savvy by enabling both producers and consumers of data insights to work smarter and leverage data for revenue growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote the evolution of a growing data infrastructure by complying with data engineering best practices
- Deliver high quality data for consumption by business departments
- Create, update, and manage a variety of databases and data warehouses
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from a variety of company stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to initiate new projects or improve existing processes
- Develop comprehensive documentation to ensure adherence to privacy guidelines and regulatory requirements, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining compliance with data protection standards
Job Requirements
Required
- Experience automating ETL processes and integrating data from diverse sources, including working with third-party APIs, especially RESTful APIs.
- Experience with AWS cloud services and tools, such as EC2, RDS, and S3 buckets.
- Proficiency with industry data quality standards (cleansing, validation, and governance).
- Experience developing and managing monitoring and alerting systems for data pipelines.
- Proficiency in creating and maintaining documentation and version control systems.
- Proficiency in data engineering tools, SQL, relevant programming languages including python, and cloud platforms.
- Flexibility in communicating to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Keen attention to detail and willingness to ensure deliverables are accurate and complete such that the organization’s data become more actionable.
- Possess at least 2-3 years of experience in data engineering or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience with data visualization software, ideally Tableau.
- Familiarity with customer relationship management applications (Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Experience building with data pipelines with AWS Airflow.
