As a Quality Control Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of maintenance, preventive maintenance or alterations as authorized in the repair station roster. They will also be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of the articles on which the repair station or any of its contractors perform maintenance or alterations before approving that article for return to service.
Requirements
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant License required
- Minimum 3 years’ experience inspecting Gulfstream aircraft.
- Ability to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Able to perform tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
- Able to monitor gauges, dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Basic knowledge of operating a personal computer or laptop.
- Knowledge of job-specific machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

- Comply with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Quality Procedures (QPs) and Local Work Instructions.
- Advise Quality Leader when changes to Quality System and associated documentation are required.
- Maintain assigned work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Provide procedural guidance to technicians and Inspectors. Must be up to date on scope of required inspection
- Train and assist technicians in proper work procedures and practices.
- Accomplish review of Work Order (W/O) documentation prior to Final Release of articles.
- Ensure that work performed is accurately reflected on W/O.
- Coordinates with customer and/or Part 135 operator to obtain Part 135 authorization, RII authorization, and identify RII items in pending work orders.
- Inform Department Leaders of problems and work status so that communications with the customers are timely and complete.
- Research logbooks, prepare logbook entries and sign-offs for approval for Return To Service (RTS).
- May RTS any article that is maintained or altered by the facility, and if applicable, certify (in the appropriate records) that the article is airworthy with respect to the work performed.
- Monitor work in-progress to ensure proper paperwork, procedures, techniques, and methods as prescribed by maintenance manuals, overhaul manuals, approved engineering documents and other FAA approved data are used.
- When performing tests that involve calibrated equipment, ensure that certification stickers on the test equipment are current and tests are documented.
- Coordinate execution of Malfunction, Failure, Defect (MFD) Report (FAA Form 8010-4) with the Quality Leader, when required.
- Complete Major Repair and Alterations form (FAA Form 337), when required.
- Report conditions adversely affecting the airworthiness of an article under repair or alteration to the Quality Leader.
- Inspection authority does not include Required Inspection Item (RII) authority unless specifically authorized by the Commercial Air Carrier (CAC) and Quality Leader.
- Are appropriately certificated IAW 14 CFR Part 65 and are considered Directly in Charge of Maintenance as defined in 14 CFR Part 145. May make airworthiness determinations and/or Return Articles to Service (RTS) when authorized by the Quality Leader.
- Inspectors are responsible for the accomplishment of assigned duties and responsibilities.
- Other tasks as delegated by the Chief Inspector.
Preferred Characteristics
- Six months to 1-year supervisory experience preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to include: 12/24/36/72-month inspections on charter and/or corporate mid-size jets.
- Gulfstream model experience preferred.
- Ability to understand and interpret the content of aircraft technical data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees throughout the organization and develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work with others as part of a team in order to achieve established goals.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Must have excellent prioritization, organization, and analytical skills.
- Able to interface in a pleasant and professional manner with all departments, level of management, customers, and vendors.
- Able to complete assigned tasks, including follow-up assignments, in a timely manner.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Familiarity with CAMP Systems & MyGulfstream a plus
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Organized & detailed oriented: able to manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously
- Efficient: effective at producing required results in a short amount of time
- Strong communication: both written and orally (consistent, efficient, and effective)
- Follow directions yet applies judgment and can be flexible

- Must be available to work overtime when needed and be able to travel outside of the local area within on short notice.

Salary: $50-60 per hour based on experience
