Job Abstract

Position Summary: Greets patients, check-in/check-out process, performs registration and scheduling process following system guidelines, scanning all forms, ID, and insurance card in appropriate files in the electronic health record, (EHR) and collects applicable co-pay or co-insurance. Processes self-pay patients following the protocol. May be involved in processing patients for Telehealth visits for appointments outside of the office. Receives incoming telephone calls, redirecting or messaging within the EHR as appropriate. Verifies insurance eligibility, using automated systems for all payers. Assist patients with enrollment into the Patient Portal. Participates in processing of medical record and referral department functions. May perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:[Required] EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE: One to three years in a medical office setting. Knowledge working with a computer electronic health record
(EHR), ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology and insurance eligibility; ability to effectively communicate with excellent customer service skills; and handling of busy phones.

Preferred Qualifications: CERTIFICATION: BLS
EXPERIENCE: Bi-lingual English/Spanish; English Vietnamese; Bi-lingual English Mandarin. One to three years in an Industrial Medicine Clinic with knowledge of Workers Compensation.

Salary Range: $17.49-$24.61 hourly. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
