Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Senior Project Management Specialist for our C-17 program in LongBeach, CA.
In this role you will:
- Lead, develop, coordinate, integrate, analyze, and maintain integrated plans and schedules for complex projects, programs and change driven activities in accordance with project management best practices.
- Identify risk and opportunity potential, develop mitigation/capture plans
- Develop and establish lead time requirements
- Facilitate and ensure integration of project/program plan, schedules, change and baseline management, processes, techniques considered to be best practice across the industry
- Act as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives Direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion Coordinates commitments with internal and external stakeholders to fulfill strategies

- Obtain information and identify key issues and relationships relevant to achieving a long-range goal or vision; commit to a course of action to accomplish a long-range goal or vision after developing alternatives based on logical assumptions, facts, available resources, constraints, and organizational values
- Ensure planning and execution sets up the Program for successful capture of retrofit, fielding and sustainment phases
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform work onsite in office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Knowledge of project planning principles and techniques to achieve desired outcomes on budget and on plan
- Ability to define, design and plan projects, achieve project deliverables, and optimize the contributions of internal and external resources
- Ability to support, lead, and delegate the project team's responsibilities and tasks through all stages of the project life cycle
- Proactively communicate internally and externally ensuring timely and accurate status and early identification of issues / help needed.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Knowledge of Project Management theory, concepts and principles (e.g. theory of constraints, critical path methodology, project risk management, triple constraints, project scope management, project management lifecycle etc.) contained in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK[R] Guide)
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) practices
- Knowledge of organizations, processes, program plans, policies and procedures, and products required to effectively perform functional responsibilities
Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor’s) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master’s and typically 8 or more years’ related work experience.)
