NOCCCD is now accepting applications for Non-Credit Emeritus Instructor: Body and Mind for Older Adults Pool-Part-Time at NOCE !
Courses in the body and mind discipline explore various topics.
• Staying mentally sharp for older adults
• Help yourself to health for older adults – exercises vary in strength and conditioning, balance, yoga, Zumba, cardio, aerobics
• Food preparation and good nutrition for older adults – students sample recipes prepared during class time
• Health and wellness for older adults – exercises vary in strength and conditioning, balance, yoga, Zumba, cardio, aerobics
Most Emeritus classes may be offered Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00am and 8:30pm. Employees must reside in California while employed with NOCCCD , even during remote work.
Primary Purpose:
Duties and responsibilities as presented are intended to be representative and not restrictive. The District reserves the right to modify the assignment and allocation of duties in accordance with operational needs.

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration.
Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught, and either:
(A) Thirty hours or two semester units of course work or class work in understanding the needs of the older adult taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor; or (B) One year of professional experience working with older adults
OR
Associate degree with a major related to the subject of the course taught; and two years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; and sixty hours or four semester units of coursework or classwork in understanding the needs of the older adult, taken at an accredited institution of higher education or approved by the district. This last requirement may be completed concurrently during the first year of employment as a noncredit instructor;
OR
Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area;
OR
The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Desirable Qualifications:
Master’s degree in related field.
Experience teaching Emeritus courses for adult education or community college.
Experience with curriculum development.
Experience successfully working in collaboration with full-time and adjunct faculty in coordinating and maintaining currency of curriculum that responds to the needs of historically underrepresented students.
Demonstrated success in helping students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.

Salary Range: Salary Range: $62.77 – 68.86 per hour

Special Instructions Summary: This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified.
This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty.
