Velentium is looking for an experienced, qualified Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant role is suited for the individual seeking opportunity for growth and development. To be successful in this role, the Senior Accountant should possess the ability to conduct a wide variety of accounting duties and projects. An ideal candidate for the Senior Accountant role should be savvy in Excel, have excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal skills, and the ability to create and maintain a team-oriented environment. The Senior Accountant should also possess the ability to review and analyze current processes for potential improvements and meet timeliness in completing assignments with deadlines and due dates and have strong integrity and ethics. This role is responsible for accounts payable, recording payroll, bank and credit card reconciliation, general ledger management, fixed asset management, balance sheet preparation and maintenance. Must be a self-motivated, reliable individual interested in joining our rapidly growing organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Significant contributor to month-end closings with strict deadlines included
- Responsible for all Balance sheet account reconciliations and reviews
- Assist with coordination and completion of year-end audits
- Supports the company tax advisers in gathering and providing information
- Analyze financial statements and report on month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter and year-over year variances by summarized income statement and balance sheet accounts
- Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
- Various month-end and quarter-end reporting requirements
- Ensure transactions are recorded in the proper account as well as other proper reporting criteria (department, project, location, etc.)
- Record and allocate payroll
- Manage accounts payable transactions
- Record, reconcile and report cash transactions on a daily basis, along with other treasury management responsibilities
- Execute cash disbursements
- Full management of fixed assets, including maintaining fixed asset records and full-cycle recording of fixed asset transactions (e.g., capitalization, depreciation, retirement, etc.)
- Department projects and other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ year of senior level accounting experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity with accounting and finance principles and procedures
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills and ability to multi-task
- Strong knowledge and proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power BI is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrate initiative and willingness to learn and continuously improve on performance
- Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
- NetSuite experience a plus
- CPA license a plus
