The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) group is looking for an Experienced Quality Systems Specialist to join our team in El Segundo, CA.
This position will support the Metrology and Test Equipment Services (MATES) group. The role will require coordination with MATES and various business units across the Boeing enterprise to provide quality support. The successful candidate will join a geographically disperse and multidisciplinary MATES team that is responsible for calibration and certification support of advanced manufacturing, satellite production, and test & evaluation activities. MATES provide a full spectrum of test asset and metrology services and support for internal customers and products through all phases of the product lifecycle. MATES is comprised of engineers, technicians and administrative personnel who support programs, sites, business units and external/government customers by providing best value test asset management and metrology services through all phases of the product lifecycle.
This position will require up to 25% travel.
Support includes:
Demonstration of Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) elements, internal and external compliance and audit inquiries
Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and leadership
MATES leadership integration for quality
Acting as Subject Matter Expert for AS9100D, MATES Quality Program, and MATES alignment with other Boeing Business Units Quality Plans
Assessment of risk across MATES processes, and development and deployment of quality and improvement plans
MATES Self Assessment process, including risk assessment
MATES Cost of Poor Quality process
Position Responsibilities:
Reviews proposals, contracts, regulatory, program and customer requirements ensuring early quality involvement in program development
Prepares and maintains Quality directives, policies, processes, procedures and metrics to assure program, contract, customer, regulatory requirements, international standards and working agreements are deployed
Analyzes process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of problems
Participates with stakeholders to develop potential preventive or corrective actions and implementation
Conducts research, compiles and analyzes performance reports and process control statistics, to continuously improve process capability
Conducts quality source selection and process reviews of suppliers' ability to meet program quality requirements and support business decisions, and develops a coordinated response for management review and approval
Conducts hardware, software and system level audits to determine compliance with quality management system standards, configuration assurance, related business, regulatory and customer requirements and reports results to management
Analyzes data to provide material review dispositions for nonconforming materials, parts and equipment
Works under general direction
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Associate’s degree or higher
3+ years of experience in Quality, Metrology, and/or Quality Management Systems
Experience with Microsoft office suite
Able to travel 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience in quality, lab test and/or metrology
Experience AS9100D Quality Management System
Experience in ISO/IEC 17025 Standard
Bachelor’s degree or higher
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).
