Job Summary:
Join our esteemed team at Regent Santa Monica Beach in the heart of Santa Monica, California, and embark on a journey into the world of hospitality as a Human Resources Intern. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience. As an HR intern, you'll work closely with our HR team, contributing to various initiatives that shape the colleague experience and support the operational excellence of our luxury resort.
A little bit about your day:
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, every day is different, but you’ll mostly:
- Recruitment Support: Assist in the recruitment process by sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes, and scheduling interviews. Gain insights into talent acquisition strategies tailored to the hospitality sector.
- Colleague Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization. Help coordinate orientation sessions and prepare necessary documentation.
- HR Administration: Provide administrative support for HR activities, including maintaining employee records, and updating all HRIS.
- Employee Relations: Assist in fostering positive colleague relations by responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and assist in the colleague recognition program.
- Training and Development: Support training and development initiatives by organizing training sessions, tracking colleague participation, and assist in other areas under learning & development.
- HR Projects: Contribute to special projects within the HR department, such as policy development, diversity and inclusion initiatives, or colleague wellness programs.
Requirements:
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Passion for the hospitality industry and a desire to learn about HR practices specific to this sector.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HR software is a plus.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

The hourly pay rate for this role is $25.00 to $28.00. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. A colleague’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
