Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma Experience: Meets or surpasses all requirements of Public Safety Officer II. Annual satisfactory completion of Functional Job Screening. 18 years of age or older. Licensure: Valid State drivers license. Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required (within 30 days of hire) Certification/Registration: Complete Basic 16hr Public Safety/Security course within 90 days of hire (May be done as part of licensure) Officers in areas where there isn’t a licensing body, Completed IAHSS Basic. Other Skills and Knowledge: Ability to read and write the English language. Has completed at least 12 months of active employment with Mercy Public Safety/Security Department (Or equivalent training, education and/or job experience). Completed Law Enforcement, Public Safety or Security report writing class (independent of licensure class). Completed Law Enforcement, Public Safety or Security criminal law class (independent of licensure class). Completed Law Enforcement, Public Safety or Security criminal investigation class (independent of licensure class). No written warnings for policy or procedure violations in the previous (6) six months prior to advancement. Preferred Qualifications Education: College degree. Licensure: Valid local, state or federal Public Safety/Security licensure as required.
