Job Abstract

ICF Incorporated, LLC: Energy and Sustainability Engineer – Reston, VA

DUTIES:

• Help clients design, implement, and evolve their energy-efficiency programs.
• Support the implementation of high–profile public–private partnership programs to drive improved energy efficiency across industrial, commercial, and institutional markets.
• Work as part of a team that builds and maintains relationships with key market actors, reviews and analyzes energy consumption data, and collaborates with other team members and clients to develop national and regional strategies to increase participation in energy efficiency programs.

• Provide technical assistance and support for industrial and commercial building operators, including assistance with setting energy management goals, implementing energy efficiency measures, tracking energy data, and achieving recognition for energy efficiency achievements.
• Review energy consumption data for single facilities as well as large portfolios of facilities, to assist building owners in benchmarking performance against peers.
• Support the review and analysis of large volumes of program data, and helping to distill data into narratives for reports, case studies, etc.
• Assist with development and implementation of program strategies, preparing and presenting persuasive presentations, and research and analysis of energy efficiency and industry trends.
• Convey complex technical subjects to non-technical audiences.
• Conduct outreach to build and maintain relationships with key market actors, including building owners and operators, industry associations, and utilities.
• Contribute to the development and deployment of communications, outreach, and training resources, including case studies, webinars, in-person events, and other opportunities.
• Coordinate with other team members and clients to develop local, regional, and national strategies to influence the market and increase participation in programs.
• Perform in-depth analysis of energy efficiency savings, using spreadsheets, databases, and custom programming (e.g., Python, Ruby).
• Analyze commercial and industrial building systems using energy modeling tools.
• Other duties as assigned within area of responsibility.

REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or closely related field and 1 year of relevant technical experience in Energy Engineering OR Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Energy Systems Engineering or related field and 3 years of relevant technical experience in Energy Engineering.

Other required experience:

• 1 year experience with quantitative and analytical research and analysis using multiple data points.

Any amount of experience with or demonstrated knowledge of:

• Energy performance benchmarking or energy modeling;
• Energy efficiency and/or environmental issues;
• Energy management for industrial plants or commercial buildings;
• Energy Audits or Assessments
• Public-private voluntary partnership programs

Telework: Hybrid position; part time telecommuting authorized.  Up to 5% North American travel                                                                                                             

SALARY: $84,136 to $135,392/year
