Overview
Lacas Coffee Company LLC (“Lacas” or the “Company”) is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to assist with the Company’s day-to-day accounting and financial activities. The Staff Accountant will work onsite at our solar-powered roastery in Pennsauken, New Jersey. Work hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00AM-4:30PM. Lacas has been supplying restaurants, diners, cafes, distributors and other away-from-home customers with high quality coffees and related products for over 100 years. The Company also sells its products to distributors, wholesalers, retailers, online, and through other channels.
The Staff Accountant is a new position for Lacas, created to support our continued growth. This position will report to the Controller.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Daily Cash Reconciliation Activities
Maintain General Ledger and reconcile subledger (A/R, A/P, Fixed Assets, Inventory)
Oversee Bank Statement Reconciliations with ERP system to ensure synchronization
Perform various Journal Entries in a timely manner
Perform and distribute Accounts Receivable Analysis on a regular basis
Perform various other Analysis to ensure data integrity and strong Internal Control
Analyze expenses, providing an explanation of variances
Provide support for internal/external financial review or audit requests
Understand Bills of Materials and plant costing methodologies
Product Cost Development
Assist with the annual budget and forecasting
Create ad hoc reports and assist Controller, as requested
Prepare additional reports as required and requested by management
Month-End Close Activities
Complete month-end journal entries
Complete balance sheet reconciliations
Requirements
Academic/Credentials/Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Accounting strongly preferred
Manufacturing, particularly food and beverage, industry experience preferred
CPA is a plus
Length of Experience:
1-3 years of experience in Accounting, Cost Accounting, or Financial Analysis
Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:
Strong communication skills (oral & written)
Strong financial analysis skills
Ability to interpret financial data
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple demands
Attention to detail and accuracy
Prior experience with ERP system (Sage100 preferred)
