Job Description

• Layout and fit-up with minimal supervision
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, including weld symbols
• Calibrating/setting welding machines
• GMAW welding of Aluminum may be required up to and including 3/16? thickness.
• Ability to read engineering drawings to determine weld size requirements.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and/or moving of 100 pounds and over, with frequent lifting and/or carrying odd shaped objects weighing up to 75 pounds, and up to 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Ability to comprehend additional training in relation to the performing of the work duties.

Work Experience

• Experience in reading blueprints (including weld symbols)
• Experience working in a manufacturing or production-type environment
• This is NOT a role for Pipe Fitters, Only structural I-beam Fitters should apply

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of welding and fitting work
- Measure and mark materials for welding and fitting
- Set up and operate welding equipment to weld and fit metal components
- Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
- Inspect welds for accuracy and quality
- Clean and maintain welding equipment

Skills:
- Proficient in various welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, Flux and Stick welding
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties
- Familiarity with welding safety procedures and practices
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Welding certification is a plus.

Expected hours: 40 per week

Shift:

• 2nd shift - 4PM - 2:30AM (or later depending on production)
• 6-8 weeks of training on 1st shift (7AM to 2:30PM) 

Weekly day range:

• Monday to Saturday
