AOL is looking for an experienced Commerce Editor to join our growing team. As the Commerce Editor, you will play a crucial role in shaping our approach to shopping content for the 55+ audience. This role will work alongside the Managing Editor to execute strategic content plans, build on-net audiences, and find new audiences via search and social. The editor will collaborate with internal teams to build efficient workflows and create engaging and insightful content that will elevate audience engagement within the shopping section.
We are seeking a skilled, forward-thinking individual with 5+ years of experience in an editor role. This person must be well-versed in popular consumer trends and comfortable helping AOL readers navigate the digital retail world. Additionally, they should be as comfortable producing product reviews and best lists for tech and beauty as they are covering timely deals and trending products that can help improve everyday life. We are seeking someone who understands how to create high-quality, consumer-focused content specific to an audience that is retired or soon approaching. Familiarity with SEO best practices and measuring performance against SEO and revenue metrics is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with lead editor to establish and evolve brand voice and content strategy for commerce content at AOL.
Pitch, write, edit and optimize trending and evergreen best lists, product reviews, trends and deals withing commerce and the retail space
Create rubrics and scoring methodologies to evaluate and rank products, brands and services as they relate to a 55+ audience
Collaborate with SEO, design and product teams to execute strategy, monitor performance, optimize content and improve processes, where needed.
Develop a deep understanding of the AOL audience and its consumption habits through testing, learning and iterating on topics, article formats and other optimizations.
Help create and execute on content roadmaps and strategies for key commerce content topics and tentpoles
Collaborate closely with freelance contributors and staff writers
Adhere to a cross-functional process for workflow with internal teams like SEO, updates, design, product, BD, etc.
Monitor article and content performance against SEO and revenue targets, optimizing strategies as needed.
Requirements and Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as an editor and manager in commerce content creation
Proficiency in careful, detail-oriented line and copy editing skills to ensure the highest quality content
Will take the initiative and work independently to lead projects and workstreams that align with the broader AOL Commerce strategy
A problem-solver who can develop solutions and recommendations based on a variety of factors and information sources
Will be a resource for colleagues as the team continues to grow
Strong understanding of SEO principles and strategies for content optimization
Ability to deliver on SEO and revenue goals, make data-driven decisions and find the most efficient workflows
Proficient in content management systems and related software.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Innovative mindset with a keen eye for identifying audience trends and preferences.

The compensation for this position ranges from $90,750.00 - $188,750.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
