Job Description
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join a client in San Leandro. The position is with a food manufacturing plant. They have day and swing shift available for this position. Hours for the role are 5:00 am - 2:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 10:00 pm. The negotiable starting salary for this role is $90K-$105K. Occasionally the person in the role will be asked to work a rotating schedule of 12 hour shifts if needed. Work days are either Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday. Job Duties:
Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in all production processes.
Monitor and maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Lead, supervise, and support production associates of up to a team of 50 people.
Compose and deliver performance evaluations. Corrective action notices and provide constructive feedback.
Train, monitor, and enforce quality control standards.
Address and rectify issues affecting product quality.
Track, manage, and audit raw materials and finished goods inventory.
Coordinate with the supply chain to optimize stock levels.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and propose scalable solutions.
Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Enforce and promote safety protocols.
Conduct regular safety training for production personnel.
Effectively collaborate with site cross-functional partners. (e.g., quality, logistics, maintenance).
Relay information accurately, in detail, and respectfully effectively to ensure smooth operations.
Train new production employees.
Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.
Address and resolve production-related issues promptly.
Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. (OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.)
Keep abreast of industry regulations and update procedures accordingly.
Coordinate maintenance schedules for production equipment.
Address equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Generate reports for management on production metrics.
Qualifications:
Two or more years of leadership experience in a production environment.
One or more years of experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Strong leadership background - ability to direct a diverse unionized workforce.
Ability to manage and develop employees.
Strong skills Working knowledge of MS applications including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, - PowerPoint and ability to grasp additional business-related applications.
Experience in a Union environment preferred.
