High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Medical Assistant Diploma from an approved school /institution or equivalent documented training.
Minimum of 1 to 2 years of Medical Assisting experience
BLS - Basic Life Support (American Heart Association)
Self starting team player and fast learner
Preferred
CMA - Certified Or Registered Medical Assistant
EPIC experience
Pediatric experience
Responsibilities
95% back office which includes rooming patients, measure and record vital signs, as well as take medical histories and update patient records
5% covering the front office when primary MAs are out of office, assist with insurance verifications, and authorizations
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to maintain positivity and know how to communicate and deal with different behaviors
exhibits patience with families and kids
Effectively responds to inquiries from patients, their relatives and/or referring physicians on services and provides accurate information in a timely fashion.
Assist pediatricians during examinations. Prepare and sterilize instruments and medical equipment.
Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the physician. Collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Perform basic lab tests.
Assist with wound care, and other minor procedures. Provide instructions to patients and their families regarding medications and follow-up care.
