Job Summary
Under direction of the Deputy Superintendent, responsible for the planning, organization, coordination and implementation of the school housing, facility, and bond programs; including the design, financing and construction of new school buildings and district facilities. Directs the repair, maintenance, alteration, reconstruction, modernization and relocation of existing school buildings and district facilities. Included is the administrative leadership, direction & coordination of all aspects for the district facilities and bond programs. Responsible for preparation, presentation, execution, monitoring and evaluation of operating and capital budgets for district facilities and bond projects. Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree preferred from a four-year accredited college or university in business or public administration, construction management, engineering, architecture or related field. Master's degree may be substituted with experience equivalency of two additional years' experience in public school construction management.
Experience:
Progressively responsible experience in school operations, facilities maintenance and/or public school administration, which includes budget, planning and staffing.
Minimum of five (5) years' experience in public school construction with at least three (3) years in administration /management preferred.
Demonstrated contract and vendor management.
Demonstrated high level of customer service with internal and external stakeholders.
Licenses or Certificates Needed:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License. Candidates must provide (and maintain) official motor vehicle driving record, and proof of compliance with district safe driving standards. Failure to provide or to meet this requirement will result in disqualification regardless of any other qualification.
Use of a personal automobile is required in the performance of the work.
