MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A baccalaureate degree plus four years of experience in information technology.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
1. An associate’s degree in information technology will substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
2. Two years of experience or training in information technology will substitute for the baccalaureate degree. Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine experience or training in information technology and college credit to substitute for the required baccalaureate degree as follows:
30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for six months of experience or training in information technology towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience or training in information technology towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 or more semester hours credit will substitute for one year and six months of experience or training in information technology towards the baccalaureate degree.A maximum of 90 semester hours may be combined with experience or training in information technology to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
3. Six years of full-time work experience in any field may be substituted for the required baccalaureate degree. Candidates without a baccalaureate degree may combine work experience in any field and college credit to substitute for the baccalaureate degree as follows:
30 to 59 semester hours credit will substitute for one year of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
60 to 89 semester hours credit will substitute for two years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
90 to 119 semester hours credit will substitute for three years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
120 or more semester hours credit will substitute for four years of experience towards the baccalaureate degree.
A maximum of 120 semester hours may be combined with experience to substitute for the baccalaureate degree.
4. A baccalaureate degree with twenty-four semester hours in computer science, management information systems (MIS), quantitative business analysis--computer science, electrical engineering, information systems and decision sciences, computer engineering, mathematics, telecommunications, or computer information systems will substitute for up to one year of required experience.
5. A master's degree will substitute for up to one year of the required experience.
NOTE:
Multiple specialized degrees and/or master's degrees will substitute for a maximum of one year of required experience.
NOTE:
A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.
NOTE:
Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.
This position is located in the IT Section of the Division of Administrative Law (DAL) and provides strategic level support to the IT Manager and DAL Director related to network and infrastructure needs. DAL serves as the State of Louisiana's centralized administrative hearings panel. DAL is a quasi-judicial executive branch agency responsible for conducting thousands of hearings each year for executive branch agencies. This position requires excellent communication and problem solving skills, experience with maintaining a network and resolving end-user problems, and an understanding of the need to maintain system and records integrity. The incumbent should possess skills in Windows 7, I0, and 11, Cisco Systems, Adobe, and Microsoft Teams SharePoint, as well as experience managing SQL and Exchange servers.
DAL Infrastructure & Network Oversight:
Maintains the DAL infrastructure, ensuring the stability of the infrastructure and mitigating the risk of threats. The incumbent provides ongoing server support, active and group policy management, network support for a satellite office in New Orleans, as well as ongoing monitoring and support activities for courtrooms and other specific functional areas within DAL. Alerts and monitors all system issues or outages through appropriate network and infrastructure products.
Network Technical Support Assistance:
Coordinates with IT Tech Support team and assists, as needed, with support tickets from end users and also prepare proper documentation for problem solution.
Inventory, licensing, and Vendor Oversight:
Monitors and maintains vendor/software licensing compliance, alerting the IT Manager of licensing needs when discovered. Maintains documentation of the DAL infrastructure, ensuring that it is accurate and up to date. Assists with research and review of IT contracts and requests for hardware and/or software purchases. Maintains DAL IT related asset information by keeping the inventory database accurate and up to date, as well as following the proper guidelines to surplus equipment when needed.

Performs other duties as assigned by the IT Manager or DAL Director.
