Overview
Nakupuna Consulting is looking for a Solutions Architect I to provide functional and technical expertise in PeopleSoft HCM/FSCM and who can collaborate with other Solutions Architects to design and implement PeopleSoft solutions for a large federal government customer. The individual in this role will be capable of leading a small team of seasoned technical professionals and will work in partnership to design and architect a large, complex Peoplesoft implementation that includes multiple internal and external integrations and interfaces. Should be familiar with HR, Payroll, and Finance business process, and be able to fit delivered PeopleSoft functionality to those processes or recommend customized solutions.
Responsibilities
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Understand the “big picture” of a Peoplesoft implementation, how it fits into a larger transformation and works with other systems; be able to create application system architecture designs.
Work across multiple technical and functional disciplines to synthesize conceptual ideas as well as implement tactical solutions.
Manage a small team of designers and technical leads, and provide design and development guidance.
Advise and support senior leadership, the Program Manager and Deputy PM on technical solutions to complex problems.
Work well within agile, waterfall and hybrid frameworks and make recommendations on the best software development methodologies to utilize.
Review and analyze requirements, and create and maintain Business Process Models (BPM) and feature designs.
Work with Subject Matter Experts (SME) to map design features to requirements.
Categorize and assign work by functionality and subject area and assign to development teams.
Work directly with customers and stakeholders to identify use cases and write user stories and acceptance criteria.
Conduct Conference Room Pilots with customers and stakeholders and capture designs.
Be effective at communicating with high level executives, conducting demonstrations, and making best practice recommendations.
Determine necessary PeopleSoft configurations and customizations, and utilize Oracle’s CEMLI (Configuration, Extension, Modification, Localization, and Integration) framework to classify the work.
Identify foundational data needed to support designs.
Create architecture diagrams and presentation materials to communicate designs.
Ensure necessary development backlog items are created and assigned to support the design.
Review Functional Design Documents (FDD’s) to ensure consistency and completeness with feature design.
Must be willing to occasionally travel (3-4 times per year) and willing to work with a team onsite at one of our offices 2 days per week.

Desired Education and Professional Experience: This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Professional Experience - a minimum of three to six (3 - 6) years of professional experience in the industry:
HCM - 3+ years
Data Modeling – 3+ years
3 full years with demonstrated experience as a Functional Lead.
Experience in or work for the U.S. military or Department of Defense
Experience as a consultant
Clearance: A background investigation at the T3 level is required, as this is not currently a classified position. Must be a U.S. citizen.
