The Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) organization is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineer to join our team in El Segundo, CA.
BT&E is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate and Experienced level Mechanical Systems Design & Analysis Engineers.
Position Responsibilities Include:
- Support the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment
- Support the development, maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers
- Perform detail design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations
- Perform spatial integration at system or component level and modification of mechanisms/landing gear/ordinance systems
- Assist in preparing technical documents for mechanical components and systems
- Assist in supporting proposal preparation and new business development efforts
- Work under general supervision
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Top Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 3+ years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages (UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, CREO, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ years of experience with drawing, reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with ProE/CREO or Windchill applications
- Experience within an engineering organization consisting of payloads, stress, structures, or mechanical design
- Experience performing environmental testing in any of the following regimes: thermal extremes in a vacuum or thermal chamber, vibration, acoustics, and propulsion systems
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
