Department Summary:
The MITRE Enterprise Communications team is seeking to fill a Web Content and Drupal Development, Senior role to help deliver engaging content to our audiences.
You’ll work for the Digital Engagement team managing web content and Drupal development. Combining technical and creative engagement, you will independently meet with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, identify project goals, and build those ideas into immersive web content.
We’re not looking for a ticket-taker. To be successful in this role, you’ll need experience in front-end Drupal development and collaborating with other Drupal developers. A creative and curious self-starter and problem solver is a must – as is the ability to quickly adapt to changing needs, tight deadlines, and ensuring the integrity of all aspects of a website. Your work will support both public- and employee-facing websites under the purview of Enterprise Communications.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform web design, development, and content production
- Manage timelines, expectations, and processes for building and launching all content on the website
- Design, develop, test, and implement new web functionality and content
- Coordinate across the enterprise with teams to develop and understand best practices, configurations, process, and tools
- Work with stakeholders to scope and build web experiences for initiatives and campaigns
- Work collaboratively with MITRE’s in-house Drupal team in Enterprise Technology
- Identify and build new website functionality to improve user experience, deliver better content, improve information architecture, and boost SEO
- Analyze web metrics (Google Analytics) to enhance the user experience and report on trends
Basic Qualifications:
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with relevant experience who can immediately contribute at this job step; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- 5+ years’ experience as a front-end Drupal developer and experience supporting communications or marketing
- Expert skills with Drupal 9, Drupal 10, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Twig
- Experience with Acquia Cloud Platform
- Experience working in Google Analytics (GA4)
- Understanding of web accessibility/508 requirements
- Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Build and nurture professional relationships in a highly matrixed environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- UI and UX experience
- Experience with Looker Studio, Google Tag Manager, and SEMrush (or similar)
- Experience with Acquia Edge, Site Factory, and Content Hub
- Experience working with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of tools
