Job Summary/Responsibilities
The responsibility of the Student Union Event Services Assistant is the operation, maintenance, and support of all events in the multiple venues of the John A. Delaney Student Union.
This includes the following: - Responsible for event setup, operation of audio and visual (A/V) equipment, equipment maintenance, and direct customer or client support. - Knowledgeable use and continuous training on event related equipment, policies, and procedures. - Ability to communicate needs of a client in an effective, courteous, and professional manner. - Proper maintenance of the space (meeting rooms, ballrooms, auditorium, and outdoor spaces) including organizing storage areas, performing basic event space maintenance, and general cleanup, as needed. - Proper maintenance of the equipment and timely reporting of broken or malfunctioning equipment. This may require moving equipment that can weigh up to 40lbs. - Reporting of any incidents, injuries, confrontations, etc. to Professional Staff or Lead Event Services Assistants. - Execute emergency procedures, when necessary. - Perform other duties assigned by the Lead Event Services Assistant on duty and Student Union professional staff.
Required Qualifications
1. Current UNF student. Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0. 2. Must be eligible for and accept Federal Work Study funding (if unsure of eligibility, email FWS@unf.edu) 3. Must be enrolled in at least six credit hours 4. Dependability 5. Ability to follow-through on tasks until completion 6. Attention to detail 7. Ability to take direction 8. Punctuality 9. Positive image and tidy appearance 10. Effective communication skills 11. Ability to work independently with little supervision, as well as part of a team with other Student Union staff 12. Ability to lift and move furniture 13. Willingness to work and learn 14. Scheduling flexibility; ability to work weekdays, evenings and weekends 15. Knowledge of campus resources a plus 16. May not hold a second job on campus

1. Knowledge of campus resources 2. Live theater or technical production experience 3. Enjoys solving problems and troubleshooting
