Job Abstract

Temporary Buyer needed for an IN OFFICE role in Costa Mesa CA. This is a long term project.

Under direction, performs a variety of para-professional duties involved in procuring supplies, services, equipment, and materials at the lowest cost consistent with consideration of quality, reliability of source, and urgency of need following established policies, procedures, and practices.
Positions allocated to this class require a general knowledge of water utility operations and related needs for supplies, services, equipment, and materials. The incumbent requires a working knowledge of purchasing policies/procedures, accounts payable procedures, and vendor relations. Incumbents are expected to perform a full range of duties with only occasional instruction or assistance. Work is normally reviewed for overall results. Work requires incumbents to exercise some judgment in selecting appropriate guidelines to follow. Must have procurement experience in the government sector (e.g., City, County, School District, Water District, Sanitary Agency, Special District, etc.). Ideally they'd have experience managing the agency's contracts, RFPs, and Purchase Orders.

Advanced MS Office experience is needed.
