Job Summary: The Entertainment Department is looking for a Stage Technician to assist with supporting our shows and special events in the park including building, installation of sound, lights, scenic, props, costumes, tables, chairs and A-frames. Qualified applicants should have good technical aptitude, a strong commitment to safety and work well in high pressure situations. This position falls under our agreement with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, AFL-CIO, District Lodge No. 947 and would be subject to the terms of the contract. Multiple interviews required. Pay rate: $17.90 per hour.
Reports to: Technical Supervisors (direct), Senior Technical Supervisors, Entertainment Full-Time Supervisors
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervised set up and strike of various shows and events including but not limited to audio, scenic, and theatrical lighting.
Model the level of guest service that we expect of all employees.
Maintain Wage and Hour Compliance guidelines.
Assist will coverage in all areas of Entertainment, as needed.
Available to work various shifts, including nights, overnights, weekends and holidays.
Will be required to train on and operate large vehicles and heavy equipment
Qualifications:
Experience in Technical theater, live event production, film, sound mixing, Theatrical lighting, scenic or carpentry preferred but not required
Must have hand and power tool experience.
Strong troubleshooting background.
18 years or older, and have a high school diploma or equivalent
Vehicle operating experience and possess a valid CA driver license
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Must have a positive, can-do attitude
Physical requirements:
Constantly standing, talking, climbing walking, reaching, using finger movement, grasping, feeling, speaking clearly, hearing conversation, using hearing acuity, seeing near far, stooping, bending, kneeling.
Working in extreme heat, sun, cold, wetness, humidity and temperature change.
Must be able to push pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
All lifts over 51 lbs. require help from a coworker or mechanical device.
Overtime of adults may be required from time to time to accommodate the business need.
