As a Director, Global Procurement – Research Services you will be accountable for leading, defining, and implementing our global research and pre-clinical development category strategy serving global and regional business needs. You will lead discussions related to the Research Services, Process Development, Pharmacokinetics, Bio Analytics, CDMO’s, Licensing, Academic Collaborations, Consulting Engagements, Research Models, Vivarium Operations and aligning our category priorities with Procurement management and partners.
A typical day may include the following:
Leads negotiations, supplier management activities, and collaborator engagement activities for the assigned Research & pre-clinical development category.
Independently drives value in terms of cost savings, cash flow improvement, and other efficiency savings from category management activities supporting research services portfolio.
Represents Global Procurement in organizational decisions with critical short and long-term impact on the success, efficiency, growth, and results of the organization and company.
Demonstrates and uses knowledge of efficient global procurement organizations and processes within the biopharmaceutical industry to support the growth driving improvements within Regeneron, aligned with corporate priorities.
Leads category activities to ensure compliance with appropriate GxPs and other applicable regulations, as applicable.
Uses data and market insights to drive sustainability initiatives and supplier diversity opportunities in alignment with business objectives.
Negotiates contract terms and conditions in consultation with Law department.
Manages team of professional level employees responsible for performing category management, sourcing and supplier management tasks
Provides coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to whom report directly to you (if applicable) and provides leadership examples for the organization.
Coaches proficiency on procurement technical skills among global procurement team.

To be considered a bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required along with progressive experience in procurement. An advanced degree is preferred. Your experience will need to include leading cross-functional teams in research and pre-clinical development categories through effective sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and supplier relationship management. Experience leading and developing manager level professionals in a multi-national firm including writing performance reviews, setting annual objectives and coaching. Demonstrated success leading and directing the global supply market evaluation process using all available market intelligence, risk, compliance, and financial assessment tools. Expert insight and knowledge regarding rates, unit costs, and cost structures to enable optimal negotiations. Experience with cost models and TCO.
Your technical knowledge should include:
Sourcing contracting tools, ERP’s, and eRFx systems preferred. (Oracle, Zycus, Ariba,).
Sourcing platforms technologies preferred. (LabViva, Zageno, ScienceExchange, Scientist.com)
Data analytics, automation and visualization tools to drive insights and communicate to leadership (PowerBI, Tableau, Power Automate)
