Production Control Manager

Salary range: $98K - $135K (DOE)
Description
The Production Control Manager reports to the VP of Operations and is responsible for leading 6 supervisors overseeing more than 100 employees across our fabrication, aluminum, paint, and multiple assembly departments, to meet production goals following Quantum Lean Time in System principles. The Production Control Manager works directly with the Safety, Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Accounting teams to ensure that Job Orders are completed safely and on time while reducing the total production cycle time and minimizing both quality defects and total labor hours required.
This position is expected to actively live out Core Values while working with employees, vendors, and customers to help achieve team, department, and corporate goals. Responsible for learning and reinforcing safe and proper work procedures while actively following Safety programs and other policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Work Schedule
The Production Control Manager will work Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Late afternoon/evening/weekend hours may be required as needed. Work schedules may change to accommodate production needs
Production Control Manager
Helps drive and implement a safety culture and mindset first and foremost.
Maintains accountability and achievable action plans across supervisors and team leads.
Delegates effectively to maximize the best use of talent and resources available.
Works creatively to resolve issues, overcome obstacles, and meet production goals.
Monitors and adjusts work center production schedules as needed to hit delivery dates.
Ensures teams have the personnel, tools and supplies they need.
Host weekly staff meetings with direct reports. (Level 10 Meeting)
Host daily production and transition meetings.
Is the "voice" of production while seeking to improve overall employee engagement.
Addresses both internal and external customer concerns.
Researches and implements process improvements with documentation and training.
Trains and mentors others on lean manufacturing best practices.
Identifies and eliminates production inefficiencies.
Monitors and effectively manages all production budgets and resources.
Defines, analyzes, and monitors relevant production metrics.
Observes and follows safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses equipment and materials properly.
Is consistently at work and on time, ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent, and arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and approve purchase order requisitions for production related purchased parts and tools.
Review and approve timesheets, Paid Time Off Requests, and other related HR duties weekly.
Help to set operational expense budgets and hold departments accountable to managing expenses to budget.
Help to define and review policies and procedures, including appropriate standards and responsibilities for various departments and functions.
Provide ongoing feedback and conduct periodic performance reviews for reports.
Attend and provide input on various operational committees and meetings as needed to include but not limited to Lean Manufacturing, Engineering Steering Committee, and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings.
Required Education and Experience:
- Strong Communication and Leadership Skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Clean driving record and ability to be added to the company insurance.
- At least 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or service shop environment.
- At least 3+ years’ experience in a leadership role leading team of 25 or more.
- Self-Starter and diligent Project Manager.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Experience and knowledge of industry best practices in Lean Manufacturing.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Knowledge of manufacturing drawings and engineering prints.
- Stellar Problem Solving & Critical Thinking Skills.
- Strong Attention to Detail.
