Employment Specialist Responsibilities:
Prior to recruiting, reviews and clarifies personnel request with supervisor to define needs and best fit for the position in terms of skills and abilities
Post in-house job openings and/or write ads for open positions
Reviews resumes, applications, test scores and other available information on candidates before selection and hire
Interviews applicants to gather information regarding education, experience, training, job skills, salary requirements and proper qualifications for openings
Schedules follow-up interviews with company supervisors
Assists HR manager in referring applicants for particular job openings
Makes recommendations as to whether an applicant should be hired, ensures credentials and references meet company standards
Monitors drug and alcohol testing for new employees in conjunction with pre-employment physicals
Conducts new hire employee orientations and collects required forms through the hiring process
Maintains and establishes relationships with hiring sites
Establishes and maintains relations with community based, governmental and education recruiting sources
Employment Specialist Qualifications:
2-5 years in recruiting experience is preferred
Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
High school graduate
Supplemental Human Resources courses or equivalent experience
Knowledge of HR information system for processing and maintaining of employee records
Proficient with Microsoft Office software and experience with modern office equipment
