Pipeline Operator, Logistics
The Pipeline Operator performs duties as outlined by the Pipeline Manager related to the receipt and shipment of petroleum products via DOT pipeline. This position has maintenance and accounting responsibilities in accordance with established company and governmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Answer and respond to after hour calls. Emergency One Call Program-NTMS (National Ticket Management System)
- Utilize Pipeline SCADA System to monitor against leaks and verify line balance is accurately reported
- Insure pipeline equipment is operated within the systems design parameters
- Prepare daily shipping reports, pipeline balance report and Omni flow meter ticket report to appropriate departments as needed
- Monitor Right of Way construction activity according to Company procedures
- Properly mark out the pipeline in preparation for construction work that could potentially affect pipeline integrity
- Interact with Central Control Operations prior to start & end of any normal or emergency maintenance activity
- Ensure company equipment is kept clean and properly maintained
- Sample and analyze product, as well as install and remove corrosion coupons as instructed by Company procedures
- Conduct safety watches as instructed by Supervision
- Keep overall appearance of pipeline facilities free of trash & debris and ROW mowed when appropriate
- Training new personnel when needed
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- 1 or more years of experience in in pipeline operations or similar industry experience is preferred
- DOT operator qualifications for liquid and gas is preferred
- Spill response training for pipeline operations is preferred
- Valid state driver's license is required to operate company vehicles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft products-Allen Bradley Wonder-Wear-GE Cimplicity Proficy Programs preferred.
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all Company personnel, third party excavators, emergency responders and contract personnel
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to independently proof work for accuracy
- Initiative and organizational skills required for meeting deadlines and establishing priorities
- Ability to manage time and scheduling to meet deadlines
- Ability to work successfully in stressful situations and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to independently conduct job accountabilities with limited supervision
- Ability to take directions from supervisors
