POSITION SUMMARY
The Cardiac Cath Lab/IR Nurse Director will provide direct support for the ongoing development and roll-out of the Cath Lab/IR services by working on a variety of teams and with a number of resources within the hospital. This individual will manage this project across operations, processes and technology by managing the project as a portfolio within a program to ensure that timing and priorities of the various sections align with the business objectives of the hospital and can be met within the designed timeline.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Review, develop and implement appropriate work plans for project assigned and communicate with team
Attend all scheduled meetings to solicit requirements, priorities and planning objectives for meeting targets to opening of the Cath Lab/IR Services. Continue to provide support for Post-Go-Live of services as required.
Plan resources and evaluate appropriate skill set requirements to successfully achieve a desirable program outcome while minimizing risk to the hospital operations in conjunction with the Nursing Sr. Directors and Sr. Director of Cardiopulmonary services and teams. Ensure clear communication of scope, timeline, objectives and constraints with Key Stakeholders as well as the Physician Partners. (Cardiologist & Interventional Radiologists)
Identify and manage risks with consideration to the 24/7 high availability requirements of hospital operations
Apply TJC principles, AORN and Title 22 requirements based on the most current published standards, and evaluate MLKCH’s performance. Document findings with recommended plans of action actively support Sr. Nursing leadership in the implementation of improvement plans.
Assist with Policy and Procedure development for new service line, and review processes for various services within the hospital as it applies and impacts on patient care delivery.
Assist Policy and Procedure committee co-chairs in the development and implementation of post committee structure evaluation processes, and participate in the continuing roll out of various aspects contained in the recently developed Policy and Procedure on Policy /Procedure Development.
Develop, create, assist with implementation and roll out of regularly reported and standardized Patient Care Services Performance Improvement activities for high risk, high volume or problem prone services consistent with MLKCH PI methodology of PDSA. This includes the review and/or development of standardized PDSA templates, the creation of a Nursing/Patient Care Services Quality/PI Council and other related structures to enhance MLKCH’s Performance Improvement Monitoring and Reporting activities, specific to required ACC-NDCR Database requirements with Quality Management resources.
Develop, create, assist with implementation of Nursing Clinical Ladder, and other identified projects specific to the Nursing Division
Provide direct support for the development, vendor training, implementation and ongoing oversite for Cath Lab/IR Hemodynamic Monitoring system in direct collaboration with CISC and HIT/PACS partners on this project in the roll-out of developed workflows. In addition, in collaboration with Sr. Directors, work with Revenue Integrity to ensure financial integrity is maintained
Provide Direct Patient Care as required

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A. Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Science Minimum Requirement.
B. Qualifications/Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible project management or hospital leadership experience required
A proven track record in successful management of large projects or multiple concurrent smaller projects
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide array of people with diverse backgrounds throughout a complex organization, especially physicians and nurses
Proven leadership qualities with delivering superior results
Experience in managing multiple priorities under pressure and accomplish short- and long- term deadlines with a demanding workload
Demonstrated experience in budget, technical and financial management functions
Demonstrated management skills in not-for-profit organizations, foundations and/or government agencies, particularly in complex organizations
C. Special Skills/Knowledge
Strong organizational, project management and communications skills

Excellent computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office
