As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Employee Experience team, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Job responsibilities
Define, communicate and develop our Employee Experience Design System
Execute on the engineering and delivery of JavaScript components and reusable components that will be leveraged across internal JPMC applications
Building, supporting, and maintaining the design system as a Technical expert across the engineering effort
Partner with Senior Product Managers and Engineering Leads to bring forward a common design system to power external and internal customer journeys
Lead the transition of the current design system to the target-state across our engineering, experience, and designer teams; working with engineering teams across the organization
Provide overall direction and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering* concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
Innovative and creative leader with previous experience in developing large-scale platforms and design systems
Proven experience as Software Engineering Lead or design system engineer, or similar role
Experienced technical expert, who is passionate about execution and delivery of top quality solutions
Extensive knowledge of the engineering best practices, technical design and product development lifecycle
Ability to guide and coach junior engineers and influence peers on approach to achieve goals aligned against a set of strategic initiatives
Practical cloud native experience
Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines
