Job Summary
The Senior Regulatory Specialist will
· Support US and Canada regional customer inquiries related to Avient products meeting various global regulations.
· Proactively identify and recommend steps to mitigate impact of impending regulatory changes on Avient’s portfolio.
· Work with suppliers to maintain all required raw material regulatory information.
· Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Product Regulatory information systems (including SAP EH&S modules on Product Safety, HazComm, Dangerous Goods, etc).
Ideal candidate is located in Northeast Ohio. May consider remote based on qualifications.
Essential Functions
· Understand, apply and stay current with all applicable regulations related to Hazard Communication (North America, Europe, Asia, etc.), such as GHS, EU CLP and other regional regulations
· Work with North American regulatory agencies such as EPA, FDA, FIFRA to assist in product registrations, and submissions.
· Maintain all relevant product information within the SAP EH&S Module and other PS systems provide data for various reports.
· Provide timely responses to customer inquiries in the US and Canadian regions
· Obtain and maintain compliance information on various raw materials to support customer requests related to REACH, RoHS, TSCA, Prop 65 etc.
· Perform on-site audits of North American manufacturing facilities to ascertain compliance with standards such as RCMS, and GMP.
· Work with the technology team to assist in developing and maintaining Product Stewardship/Regulatory standards for new product development.
· Work with manufacturing plants to provide guidance on best practices to maintain regulatory compliance and provide training to end-users.
· Create documentation of internal Product stewardship processes and procedures.
· Act as backup for the EH&S PS Managers supporting specialties such as FDM/TPC.
· Daily interaction with US and Canada manufacturing sites and technology team to support time sensitive raw material creation activities.
· Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree
· 5+ years in manufacturing, regulatory, environmental health and safety
Additional Qualifications
· Proficiency in SAP preferred
· Excellent working knowledge of various computer software applications (i.e., Microsoft Office applications)
