About the Position: The Prince Georges County, Department of Family Services is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a part-time Community Developer Aide IG LTGF/(Nutrition Site Coordinator), grade G-05 within the Aging and Disability Services Division. This is a para-professional position whereby the incumbent serves as the Nutrition Site Coordinator, responsible for coordinating the safe operation of the Senior Nutrition Program at one Nutrition Site, and ensuring the food safety regulations and procedures are implemented during meal service, frequent and regular communication with Nutrition Program Manager and other Nutrition Program and Site Staff, maintain daily records, prepared accurate weekly meal reports and ensures the donations are deposited as required. This para-professional level of work requires within 6 months of employment, the successful completion of the Food Service Manager's License through the local County Health Department or the Serve-Safe Certification and the renewal of this certification every three years. The Primary role of the Nutrition Site Coordinator is to safely serve meals to the program participants, assist with recruitment and training of volunteers, assist with registering program clients, actively participate in special events and program activities in an effort to increase program participation and provide additional support by assisting with data collection and contacting clients and assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.

What You'll Do:
The Nutrition Site Coordinator will perform the following duties:
Maintain accurate records and weekly reports of meals served at the Nutrition Site and make daily bank deposits as required.
Call in weekly meal orders in a timely manner and maintain reservation list for participants.
Regularly and routinely communicate with partner agencies (At the Senior Centers) to share and plan programs and support special events and coordinate meals for such events.
Ensure the completion of annual registration forms, special event registrations forms, and new client registration forms and submit to administrative office as required.
Assist with Recruitment, training and provide guidance to program volunteers, senior aides and summer youths and verify their timesheets and hours as needed.
Actively attend mandatory monthly site coordinator's meetings and TEAMS meeting both in person and virtually.
Successfully obtain and when needed, renew Food Service Manager Certification as required.
Support and coordinate programs, activities and special events or departmental activities and actively participate in planning and providing support for such events.
Assist with the distribution of Senior Farmer's Market Program at designated Nutrition Sites
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Attend professional development trainings programs, workshops, or meetings to aide in team building and to sharpen skills.
Willingly performs other tasks and duties, which may not be specifically listed in this description, however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.
Qualifications
What You'll Need:
Graduation from High School or G.E.D
Basic Math/Arithmetic
Basic computer skills/able to send emails.
Ability to make daily bank deposits.
Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the Food Service Industry
Experience with working with the aging population
Ability to utilize TEAMS platform to attend virtual meetings.
Additional Information
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Must obtain Food Service Certification within 6 months of hire, and renewal of certification every 3 years as required.
DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligible candidates, which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
