Position: Staff Technical Program Manager
Job Location: 680 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Develop product roadmap-related documentation including stakeholders’ communications, measurement, status dashboards, and executive updates. Create technical work breakdown and schedules, as well as executive updates that include technical dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans. Work on large projects that span multiple cross-functional stakeholders and drive consensus by identifying and prioritizing key dependencies. Coordinate inter-dependencies between Service and FE Teams. Coordinate defining API contract specifications. Track dependent schedules including risks. Partner with Engineering leads to triage requirements, facilitate architecture and design of large scale and highly available systems and databases, and design efficient and effective business processes. Drive requirements clarification sessions with Engineering and Product teams. Facilitate and document Architecture and Design specifications. Communicate architecture decisions to partner teams and manage dependencies. Define and maintain processes for constant engagement with Engineering and Product Leads. Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to identify and define sizing, needs, and provision infrastructure components in private and public clouds. Drive activities with the Infrastructure and Platform teams for provisioning Cloud Infrastructure. Determine cloud resource sizing and allocation within public and private clouds. Drive multiple scrums and sprints including facilitation of technical discussions for resolving roadblocks. Track backlog, sprint planning, retrospective, and Sprint Goals. Create dashboards to have sprint visibility and drive daily scrum meetings. Help define and execute user acceptance test cases. Coordinate requirements definition clarity for deriving test cases. Manage schedules for test case definition. Develop Test Automation and execution and help resolve scheduling conflicts amongst multiple priorities for User acceptance test cases. Drive cloud strategy discussion for effective and efficient utilization of public cloud resources. Periodically review Cloud costs vs budget. Work with Engineering to define and prioritize areas of optimization. Coordinate with platform teams for industry wide best practices. Coordinate A/B testing and hypothesis vetting, including liaising between product teams and data scientists. Document test parameters, coordinate test schedules, and analyze and communicate test results to stakeholders. This position does not supervise other employees.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related area and 3 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related area and 5 years of experience in engineering, engineering program management, technical program management, product management, or related area.
Skills required: Experience with Agile and waterfall software development methodologies and SDLC processes. Demonstrated knowledge of Jira and Confluence. Experience building and managing status dashboards and providing executive updates. Experience leading architectural discussions. Demonstrated knowledge of data structures, threads, and dead locks in large high performance systems and distributed systems. Experience with code/control flows in large distributed systems. Experience with public clouds and their offerings. Experience with networking technologies, edge caching, load balancers, and interpreting system metrics including CPU/memory utilization, CPU steals, network bandwidth, and thread utilization. Experience initiating processes in an environment where they did not previously exist. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $239,200/year to $286,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.? Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
