Responsibilities
The Grant Writer Fund Development will support the overall grants program with a focus on identifying and securing local, state, and federal government funding and support from private and corporate foundations. Primary responsibilities include researching and tracking opportunities, relationship management, preparing and submitting grant proposals, supporting grant compliance, and grant reports. The position will support the strategic approach to achieve fund development targets.
Grant Research, Proposal Development & Grant Writing:
Prospect research to identify, evaluate, and track funding opportunities focusing on local, state, and federal government funding for NYBCe and divisions.
Collaborating with the Development team, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), and division leads to set and meet deadlines for grant and appropriations proposal development and submission.
Develop grant narratives, budgets, and supporting documents in collaboration with the Executive Director, Development, and other key staff.
Coordinate across departments to secure the needed data and financial information for proposals, reports, and grant tracking.
Write, prepare, and submit governmental and private foundation grant proposals for unrestricted operating revenue and restricted programs, meeting deadlines for a robust grant schedule.
Manage time-sensitive submission deadlines, including those on SAGE, DCA SAGE and Grants.gov.
Prepares routine reports.
Any related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or closely related field.
Experience:
3-5 years related experience in grant writing with proven success. Healthcare or biotech experience helpful.
Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to the requirements listed above that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $80,000/year to $90,000/year.. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
