AECOM Buildings + Places is looking for a dynamic leader to usher our AECOM Sports Practice- Americas into the next chapter of industry leading excellence. Position to be based in New York, NY. The right person will bring a combination of entrepreneurialism, holistic leadership, and passion for leveraging interdisciplinary capabilities towards making a better world through the communities and cultures supported by integrated sports and entertainment projects.

This large practice focuses it’s work on everything from performance and development facilities to primary competition venues, ranging anywhere from small collegiate clients to the largest of professional leagues and franchises. Our Buildings + Places Business Line embodies the spirit of a nimble, fully integrated design firm within a fully global infrastructure organization. Services include architecture, interiors, building and system engineering, urbanism, and planning (inclusive of landscape design), strategy +, economics, technology solutions, asset advisory, and cost and program management. This diverse team assists our clients from strategy through project realization, creating positive outcomes for those who occupy and use the buildings and environments we help to create.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

Responsible for the growth, profitability, and strategy for AECOM Buildings + Places, Americas Sports Practice.
Drives execution of tactical business plans in collaboration with regional business line leader.
Works with the regional business line leader, global market sector leaders and account management leads to grow a profitable business by developing and implementing location specific growth plans.
Represents AECOM as a leader in the Sports architecture industry.
Provides industry leadership across the sports market.
Manages and leads client relationships.
Provides guidance and coaching to business development, account management and other staff.
Is a member of the region management team, focused on optimizing the overall performance of the region.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Design Architecture or related field plus twelve (12) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including four (4) years in leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in Design Architecture
Proven record of developing new Buildings and Design for clients in the collegiate and professional sports and recreation market.
Extensive experience in the collegiate athletics market.
Ability to develop new business in the market place.
Ability to recruit and attract top industry talent.
Core competencies in professional staff development and retention are critical
Ability to perform individually in a competitive environment
Superior ability to satisfy clients and manage company’s association with them
Member of Buildings and Design Professional or Technical Society
