Job Abstract

Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ) — a world-renowned education and poverty-fighting organization based in New York — seeks an enthusiastic, dedicated, and mission-aligned Program Evaluation Associate to support the Research and Evaluation Department.

Harlem Children’s Zone is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to join the Research and Evaluation Department’s Program Evaluation Division. The Program Evaluation Associate will help implement and maintain program evaluation systems that support efficient program information collection and dissemination within the organization and with our external partners.

Working closely with the Director of Program Evaluation and the Assistant Director of Program Evaluation, the Program Evaluation Associate is a key member of the department’s program evaluation team. The Program Evaluation Associate will assist in maintaining systems, schedules, and templates for tracking the progress of programs across the organization in relation to key indicators. Critically, the Associate will compile and share program data in a format that helps Research and Evaluation staff and program leads understand their impact and highlight opportunities for innovation.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Policy, Economics, STEM, Public Policy, Sociology, Psychology, or related subject; Master’s Degree preferred

• 2+ years of experience in program implementation and evaluation; work experience in academic research settings strongly preferred

• Must have authorization to work in the United States

What You’ll Do

• Help execute evaluation plans in partnership with Research and Evaluation senior staff, program leads, and other key stakeholders;
• Assist in the collection of quantitative and qualitative data and help update current systems for using this data to provide feedback and support to program leadership for the improvement of program practices;
• Assist in the implementation and management of comprehensive internal systems that allow for proactive program measurement and assessment srategies
• Support the development of program outcome measures and other indicators relevant to the work of Research & Evaluation;
• Help prepare presentations to funders, other non-profit organizations, policymakers, academic audiences, community members, and staff

Schedule

• Monday through Friday (9 am – 5 pm)
• Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remote)

We offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package. The salary range for this position is $68,000-$72,000 per year.
