Barnes Force Motion Control SBU has an exciting and challenging career opportunity at Barnes in the Brecksville, Ohio location for a Warehouse and Assembly Team Leader. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the team to ensure that goals and objectives are met. The Team Leader will provide guidance, instruction, training, and leadership skills to inspire the team to perform at their optimum. This role involves problem-solving, decision-making, and implementing strategies to improve productivity and efficiency.
Core Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Production Supervisor and Operations Manager to establish department goals and objectives.
Responsible for daily operations priorities
Responsible for managing the internal logistics of inbound and outbound shipments.
Responsible for prompt and efficient shipment of customer’s orders, and maintaining records.
Coordination of inventory controls with purchasing and physical inventory with division controller.
Responsible for training of (new) employees on work and safety procedures or assign employees to experienced workers for training.
Regularly review and update the skills matrix.
Coach, and train employees in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Share responsibility with Production Supervisor for continuous process improvement.
Suggest and implement productivity improvements. Recommend capital investments for warehouse.
Work with RG Supervisor for timely handling of returned goods and customer issues.
Scheduling and efficient use of personnel to maintain efficiency.
Serve as a resource for warehouse personnel on problem resolution, process questions, etc.
Set example for safety and quality and ensure compliance in department work areas.
Maintain all aspects of work place organization by leading 6-S activities
Performs duties as assigned by management.
Acts in alignment with the Barnes Code of Business Ethics and Conduct
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years’ experience with progressive warehouse and/or manufacturing responsibilities.
Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a team preferred.
Experience working in an ERP system required.
Experience working with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Strong knowledge and demonstrated strong use of Lean Enterprise principles.
Apply Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma or Kaizen principles.
Ability to use and set mechanical machinery equipment.
Ability to use weigh scales, calculators, packing equipment and computers.
Ability to understand Nitrogen Gas products’ terminology and design, drawings and specifications.
Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, personnel, customers and other professionals.
Strong knowledge of processes and machines related to products assembled within assigned area.
Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
