Job Abstract

This position is accountable for the daily operational execution of the aircraft on ground (AOG) materials team ensuring that established aircraft avialability and parts duration KPI’s performance are met. The Director, Material Support is further accountable for ensuring leadership of personnel and functional tasks within the organization are accomplished in a safe, compliant, concise, and consistent manner, ensuring all regulatory and approved purchasing and logistics standards are adhered to providing maximum value for the organization. Key accountablability for $100M annual spend in Material spend to support unscheduled and line maintenance aircraft activity.

• Ensure effective management and control of daily AOG materials operations is carried out
• Monitor worldwide operations, analyze current activities and develop strategies that maximize the use of available resources to achieve the highest levels of performance
• Assist in the development of new processes and procedures to ensure efficient operations within AOG
• Maintain critical response processes and procedures and manage worldwide operating and emergency issues
• Maintain operating processes and procedures and continuously look at ways to improve
• Ensure rapid response to technical matters, advice and troubleshooting is carried out
• Effectively manage AOG logistics and expedite processes and procedures (in coordination with MCC and fleet technical programs)
• Ensure maximum crew productivity is achieved through proven optimization tools/ techniques
• Provide the main information (gathering and distribution) for daily operations and prepare decisions for irregularity recovery scenarios
• Manage all communication channels/processes between material operations and other company stakeholders
• Monitor all flights in operations control and manage/report all irregularities which may occur due to parts
• Engage with key stakeholders at global operating locations as required
• Responsible to ensure all material is sourced and procured in accordance within regulatory and approved procurment standards and guidelines 
• Responsible for Compliance of all  international import/ export controls for AOG material sourcing and logisitics handling 
• Provide meaningful performance management, employee feedback and ensure all subordinates receive appropriate mentoring, coaching and support at all levels

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in an Operations Management role
• Experience in process development and method engineering
