Oversees the administrative, systems functions and projects required to provide high quality customer service and operations. Provides general direction to department supervisors with in General Service; employee transportation, patient and guest services, Mayo Clinic Access Identification Cards, patient transportation, delivery services, and telecommunications. Participates in strategic planning for General Service. Translates the Mayo Clinic and departmental vision into meaningful and effective responses and results. Delegates responsibly and authority to the supervisors to carry out work. Manages multiple functions and serves as a resource with oversight to the daily operations. Ability to manage multi-site operations. May posse's technical knowledge to areas being overseen, additional knowledge in other functions such as quality management and expertise and experience in the management of people. Participates in the identification of opportunities to improve processes and to act as a catalyst for facilitating these improvements. and as a mediator on resolving difficult issues. Participates in the overall management of General Service by serving on institutional projects, work groups, task forces, councils, and committee's. Collaborates with outside vendors; transportation, delivery services, City of Rochester and Patient Transport Systems. Serves as a liaison between departments and agencies inside and outside of Mayo. Creates customer service driven sections and fosters collaboration with physician and administrative colleagues. Responsible for the mentoring, oversight of supervisors and their training and development. Involved in strategic planning for the department. Ensures supervisors collaborate in the development of policies that effect all staff and services provided throughout General Service. Provides analysis of work unit processes to improve outcomes and services, to meet the information needs of operational planning, practice analysis and improvement activities; facilitates the review and interpretations of regulatory standards. Oversees the implementation practices and polices that meet the General Service and departmental annual planning initiatives.
