Job Abstract

Quanex is looking for a Batch-Off Operator to join our team located in Cambridge, Ohio.

Summary: The basic function of this position is producing quality product with minimum scrap.

What Success Looks Like:

• Operate forklift/complete daily checklist.
• Assist Strip-Mill operator when needed.
• Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures.
• General housekeeping and perform daily/weekly 5s duties.
• Complete Batch-off safety checklist.
• Operate computer control system and maintain and operate bar code printer.
• Refill batch dip and maintain proper slab dip levels for the compound being mixed.
• Clean out gear pump head and assist with setting up next one.
• Ensure loop lengths are set accordingly for the recipe being mixed.
• Ensure rubber compound meets customer specs and is packaged in the proper container neatly.

Your Credentials:

• Ability to stand, walk, and use upper extremities while occasionally sitting, crouching, and bending.
• Ability to climb stairs, lift to 50 pounds and perform necessary job tasks.
• Close visual work required. Ability to read information in a variety of formats.

Hourly Wage is $17/hour plus $1.00/hour shift premium (for second and third shifts)

Second shift = 2:45pm – 11:00pm; Third shift = 10:45pm – 7:00am
