Description
Hospice of the Piedmont (HOP) is seeking a Business Development Representative to play a crucial role in generating hospice referral growth by establishing and nurturing business partnerships. The main responsibilities include making effective sales contacts, calls, and presentations to increase awareness of HOP and its services. The selected candidate will serve as the agency staff liaison with physicians, facilities, discharge planners, and community agencies, contributing to the overall development and referral growth of our Central Virginia territory. This position will serve in the northern part of our territory.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or sales or a related field, or equivalent professional experience (Nursing or social work background desirable).
Experience: Proven experience in hospice or home health sales or a related industry with a track record of achieving incremental growth in direct sales. Previous community liaison, hospital setting, or medical sales experience is preferred.
Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Basic computer skills required.

Excellent leadership and organizational management skills.
Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills, including excellent verbal and written communication.
Ability to work independently, proactively, and with strong problem-solving skills.
Quick, thorough, and creative in addressing the questions and concerns of medical organizations.
Take the lead role in developing, implementing, and executing the program.
Duties (including but not limited to):
Develop and execute an extensive outreach plan to establish and maintain strong relationships with facilities, physician offices, and other medical organizations.
Make effective sales calls and presentations to targeted referral sources.
Act as a liaison between referral partners and the agency to communicate information about new products, programs, and service delivery.
Participate in marketing efforts, including physician calls, lunch and learns, health fairs, speaker’s bureau, and CEU programs.
Prepare monthly tracking reports on referral sources and keep the agency informed of key marketplace changes.
Identify new service opportunities to differentiate Hospice of the Piedmont from other organizations.
