The Associate Director, Cloud Infrastructure Architect is responsible for the design solutions and service delivery for all departments (commercial, R&D, sales, marketing, etc) across the Americas. Reporting to the Americas Infrastructure Lead, the associate provides extensive, broad-based technical architecture, leadership, management experience and expertise to oversee our Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and on-premises infrastructure platforms. This role is very AWS heavy and requires deep technical hands-on expertise. A key technical leader for Eisai’s regional and global infrastructure and cloud delivery, the associate will leverage both prior experience and a strong track record to set up multi hybrid cloud environments, data center migrations, IaC, DevOps practices, SDLC methods, and security.
This leader is responsible for the architecture, assessment, and migration planning of on-premises systems to cloud-native deployment methodologies and has the vision and foresight to incorporate future planning into a cloud migration strategy. As part of this vision, the associate will introduce new emerging technologies, cloud adoption plans, cloud infrastructure designs, and cloud management strategies.
Leading a technical team of local and offshore subject matter experts and engineers both directly and indirectly, the associate will help direct the governance, management, and dayto-day operations of the infrastructure and cloud architecture. Functioning as an internal consultancy to Eisai’s IT, business leadership, and other stakeholders, this consultancy provides a cost-effective portfolio of services that promote cloud solution deliveries and ensure operational support. As a key Cloud strategist, the associate provides thought leadership on Eisai’s optimized Cloud environment to increase business security, scalability, and enable strategic capabilities for continued growth.
The associate will have and leverage exceptional communication, presentation, and change management skills to drive Eisai’s Cloud solutions across all levels of the organization regionally and participate globally.
Influences senior management on Cloud technology adoptions and best practices.
Defines Operating Models for Regional and helps with Global Cloud adoption.
Participates in technical Architecture Working Groups (TAWG) with Japan, UK, and US Cloud Teams.
Designs and builds GXP/GDPR Complaint and validated Cloud infrastructure and applications.
Works with Procurement to select and implement vendor partners.
Builds Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE) and Cloud Operations Teams.
Builds DevOps /Automation methods.
On-Premises/Storage and Data management design and next generation DC services strategy.
Reviews and provides recommendations for (current) Data replication DR and business continuity.
Designs and reviews technical environment design for each infrastructure/application solution to determine compatibility with existing infrastructure.
Assesses new hardware and software as may be needed to implement proposed infrastructure designs and makes recommendations for each solution.
Delivers infrastructure designs to be implemented for each solution in the existing client environment (CPU, RAM, storage, Network).
Ensures management confirmation for all key commitments including scope and requirements changes, quality assurance plans, budgets, and implementation schedules.
Approves infrastructure/application solution requirements and designs.
Works with ongoing technology refresh and end of life projects to ensure each solution design follows best practices.
Advises on SaaS support and conversion.
Leads Infrastructure and Cloud related project initiatives throughout project life cycle.
Scopes solution requirements and configures solutions using various cloud platforms to meet business needs and project deliverables.
Organizes and prioritizes development efforts, interfaces with other technical teams as necessary.
Oversees and coordinates development efforts with external vendors and partners.
An undergraduate or postgraduate degree in computer science, information science, management information systems, or business administration or a related field or equivalent experience relevant to this position.
Minimum of 10 years related work experience.
8+ years of overall experience in information technology and 4+ years as a Cloud Architect.
3+ years of experience in technical leadership roles for enterprise-scale application architecture and delivery.
AWS /Azure Solutions Architect Certifications. AWS Certified Architect Professional is a must have.
Infrastructure as a Code experience, specifically with Terraform & Ansible.
Network and Security as Code experience.
ITIL Foundation certified with strong understanding of the ITIL framework.
Working knowledge of LDAP, AD, SSO, Email Infrastructure, Web Services.
Experience with AWS and Azure all services required for Design and build Infrastructure solutions.
Experience with AWS Control Tower/Azure Landing zone designs.
Experience in Networking, Firewalls, Load Balancers, Storage, Compute on AWS, Azure, and Data centers.
Experience designing and implementing scalability, failover, high availability, DR, capacity planning, security, and compliance.
Experience with backups and recovery tools.
Hands-on professional level experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Linux, containers.
DevOps automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelining, automated delivery models, Azure DevOps, Cloud formations, ARM templates, GitHub.
Expertise in performance monitoring and tuning.
Experience with Physical servers such as HP DL series, Sun Sprac, Dell Powerstore, Pure Storage Array, Dell IDPA, and Fabric Networking.
Strong business analysis skills and experience. Includes requirements definition and process modelling.
Experience working with all levels of the organization to develop a platform strategy and roadmap and also maintain consensus around the strategic direction.
