The City of Cupertino is currently recruiting for a part-time temporary non-benefited Innovation Technology Video Intern (Intern III) assigned to the Communications Division of the Innovation Technology Department at City Hall.
Definition
The Video Intern is responsible, after training, for the successful work in the areas of desktop deployment, application maintenance/development, and/or video maintenance/production. May include general technical duties that are entry level. Performs related duties as required.
Class Characteristics
This entry-level position is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited at-will position. Work hours not to exceed 995 hours per fiscal year.
Supervision Received and Exercised
Receives general direction from the full-time staff on the video team.
Essential Duties
Essential Duties

Assists with designing, installing, and managing video broadcast, audiovisual, and computer systems.
Assists with videography, basic editing, file conversion, and digitizing tapes.
Maintains databases and equipment inventory, master tape library, and media assets management.
Researches audiovisual-related equipment, production videos, and music for various projects.
Qualifications
Knowledge of:
General video production applications, theory, and terminology.
Microsoft products such as Windows Client/Server and Office/MacOs is desirable.
Understanding of general database management and maintenance.
Audiovisual systems and basic troubleshooting.
Principles of good customer service.
Ability to:
Establish and maintain a client relationship with a solid customer service perspective that is professional, courteous, and respectful.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, security, and integrity of data and information.
Meet time deadlines.
Understand and follow written and verbal directions.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.
Establish and maintain system and building security.
Work independently, often with limited supervision or direction.
Adhere to the safety procedures, practices, and policies of the City.
Experience and Education
Applicants must be a college graduate or a student currently pursuing a degree from a college, university, or technical school with major course work in radio/television, computer science, communications, and/or a related field.
Licenses and Certifications
Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required.

Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; use listening skills to talk or hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
