Under general supervision, to assist in the data collection, analysis, and evaluation of programs in the assigned department; to provide training, technical assistance, and other support services for managers, staff, and clients.
Typical Tasks
Conducts clinical record documentation reviews: prepares data; reviews clinical records for compliance with regulatory and quality of care standards; provides feedback to providers; prepares reports;
Provides training and technical assistance for managers and line staff on clinical record documentation rules and procedures;
Conducts site certification reviews of contracted agencies; coordinates site certification reviews of county clinics;
Facilitates client grievances and appeals via the Client Problem Resolution Process;
Coordinates the mid-level credentialing process for clinical staff;
Reviews and authorizes Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS) certifications;
Reviews and authorizes licensed waiver requests; Reviews and authorizes Day Treatment Intensive, Day Rehabilitation, and concurrent mental health services level of care;
Reviews and authorizes Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS) requests; provides technical assistance for TBS providers;
Gathers and analyzes data for program evaluation activities;
Assists with planning and implementing staff development activities;
Assists with planning and implementing staff training activities;
Assists the Department in preparation for State Department of Mental Health reviews and audits;
Attends internal and external meetings, trainings, workshops, and conferences related to Quality Improvement activities;
Performs related work as required.
Employment Standards
Possession of a valid California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker or a Marriage and Family Therapist as issued by the State Board of Behavioral Science Examiners.
Training and experience in mental health services area that demonstrates the possession and application of the following knowledge and abilities and the ability to perform the typical tasks listed above.
Experience Note: Possession of a Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university which qualifies for licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and two years of post graduate social work experience in the field of mental health; or possession of a Master's degree or equivalent which qualifies for licensure as a Marriage and Family Therapist by the State Board of Behavioral Science, such as Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Child Development and Family Studies, or Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling; and two years of post graduate counseling experience in the field of mental health.
