The role will advise management on policies and procedures related to the IT industry.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelop, execute, and track the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.Document system security requirements and recommend solutions to management.Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure software and hardware.Install software that monitors systems and networks for security breaches and intrusions.Monitor systems for irregular behavior and set up preventive measures.Conduct security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry best practices, and organizational security policies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into system and network design, development, and implementation processes.Stay updated on the latest security threats, technologies, and industry trends, and provide recommendations for improving security posture.Participate in incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery efforts, as needed.Educate and train staff on information system security best practicesQualificationsEducation and Experience Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field3 or more years’ work experience as a System Security Engineer or related positionProven experience developing, operating and maintaining security systemsExtensive knowledge of operating system and database securityProficiency in networking technologies, network security and network monitoring solutionsKnowledge of security systems including end-point security solutions, content filtering, firewalls, authentication systems and intrusion detection and notification systemsIn-depth knowledge of security protocols and principlesCritical thinking skills and ability to solve complex problems.
