The Metadata Operations Specialist is an expert of metadata content curation. They will monitor the metadata quality and its accuracy to allow qualified metadata to surface on the TV app platform. Their expertise will allow them to investigate metadata issues and assess its impact to the TV app experience, provide resolutions by identifying process improvements, and seek opportunities for technical and tactical solutions to better the customer experience.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure ingested metadata is of the highest quality for subscriptions —TV+ (including MLB) and MLS
Curate metadata for TV+ Originals, sporting event replays, highlights, and spotlights using an internal CMS
Develop workflow efficiencies through writing automation scripts
Analyze high volume data using SQL and effectively communicate findings
Partner with AI/ML teams and Engineering to drive process and workflow efficiencies for large-scale data projects
Partner with Project Leads to drive operational needs and process improvements
Use project management applications to collaborate, track, and report in order to meet project deadlines
Conduct thorough investigations on reported metadata issues to provide root cause analysis, and improvement suggestions for processes and systems
Understand system dependencies in order to anticipate upstream and downstream impact
Partner with data team to build data visualization dashboards for (but not limited to) content growth, trend analysis, resource and productivity tracking
Demonstrate strong and engaging communication and presentation skills to collaborate internally and cross-functionally
Test tools for bugs, enhancements, and new features, and provide feedback to improve efficiency and accuracy
Identify documentation gaps and assist in its development
Qualifications and Skills:
5 years of experience in digital media, technology, or related industry
An understanding of the TV app’s services and features
Deep understanding of complex, large-scale media content management systems (CMS), and how metadata interplays and impacts the end-user experience
Experience with writing automation scripts
Proficiency in Python and SQL (web scraping, data cleaning)
Experience partnering with AI/ML teams
Project and/or program management experience, certifications are a plus
Localization knowledge/background a plus
Experience in using a ticketing system and escalation management
Proven track record of identifying, troubleshooting, scoping and diagnosing data issues in order to resolve or escalate to appropriate cross-functional teams, along with ability to learn from history and prevent errors from recurring
Strong written and verbal business communication skills
Proven ability to manage time sensitive escalations
Ability to remain flexible and nimble through priority changes and ad-hoc/new projects
Ability to meet deadlines with in a high-pressure environment
Comfortable with navigating ambiguity to make sound judgment calls
Experience with some or all of the following: Apple products (macOS, tvOS, iOS, iPadOS, Keynote, Numbers), MS Office, project management applications
Experience with using reporting and data visualization tools such as GBI or Tableau is a plus
Additional Requirements
This position will require working onsite in Culver City Tuesdays – Thursdays
Schedule is 40 hours a week, schedule varies depending on needs of project
Will be required to work outside of normal business hours, weekends and US observed holidays occasionally
