Job Abstract

Central San, a progressive public utility, invites candidates to apply for a Staff Engineer - Limited Duration position. This limited duration position, which is expected to last between three to five years, will be assigned to the Planning and Development Division of the Engineering and Technical Services Department. The position will be responsible for supporting an Associate Engineer in the development of a long-term wet weather resiliency plan. Duties will include: Review and update capacity criteria of the collection system, treatment plant, storage basins, and the outfall system; identify needs and opportunities to meet wet weather resiliency efforts/goals; and identify data opportunities such as flow metering and other possible technology pilots.

Education:

Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major work in engineering, or related field.

Experience:

None required.

Licenses and Certifications:

- Possession of a valid California Driver's License. A valid out of state driver's license
will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver's License within 90 days of appointment.

- Possession of an Engineer-In-Training Certificate is desirable.

Human Resources shall determine the examination steps to be used for this recruitment. The steps may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, practical examination, application screening, and/or oral board examination. One or more of these steps may be used and in any order. At the end of the testing process, candidates passing all of the examination steps will have their names placed on a Limited Duration position eligibility list. The list is valid for six months and may be extended up to an additional six months at the request of the hiring department. The list established by this recruitment may be used to fill future limited duration positions in this classification.

Successful candidates not currently employed in regular status by the District must pass a pre- employment physical examination to be considered for appointment.
