Job Summary/Basic Function
Manages the SOCY lab which includes but is not limited to assisting students as needed on academic coursework; may include group tutoring.
Required Qualifications
Needs to have completed SOCY 302 (Social Statistics) with a minimum grade of B+
Proficient in intermediate social statistical analysis
Proficient in intermediate use of social statistics software package, SPSS
Demonstrated ability to work with others in a productive manner.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Must complete 3 required clearances (PA Criminal Background, Child Abuse History, and FBI Fingerprints).
Preferred Qualifications
Job Duties
Hold office hours a minimum of 5 hours per week to be available to students in explaining and assisting with statistical questions.
Attend SOCY 302 labs as needed to assist students with SPSS and address concerns with concept mastery.
Contact individual tutees and arranging sessions .
Prepare for tutoring sessions.
Assist with coursework and preparation for exams.
Contact course instructor if you have any questions about course material.
