Job Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse is licensed by the state and prepared to provide basic, direct patient care. Assumes responsibility for care of assigned patients and functions as a member of the health care team, taking direction and guidance from Registered Nurses. All care is provided in compliance with and according to Nursing Department policy/procedure, standards of care and the Licensed Practical Nurse Practice Act. Participates in unit Quality Improvement activities. These responsibilities are performed as they apply to adult and geriatric medical-surgical patients.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Graduated from an accredited program of Practical Nursing
- Current New Jersey LPN license
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association only.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Effective communication skills and basic math skills.
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
Preferred:
- Previous LPN experience preferred.
Certifications and Licenses:
- BLS certification through American Heart Association.
- Current New Jersey LPN license
Scheduling Requirements:
- Nights 7:00PM – 8:00AM
- Every other weekend
- Full-Time (37.5 hrs)
- Mandatory Orientation
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- Utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care.
- Individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patients needs with the support of a professional Registered Nurse and/or the Clinical Director.
